| Kenneth Carl Elavsky, 82, died Sunday, December 24, 2006.
He was born July 9, 1924 in Minnesota, the son of Mike and Mary (Profant) Elavsky. He
entered the U.S. Navy as a young man during WWII and served in the South Pacific
aboard the U.S. Smalley. He came west after the war, married, and had a family.
Kenneth worked on railcars in Portland, Oregon. He eventually became an independent
scrap metal worker. Kenneth came to Sweet Home about two years ago to be closer
to family. Kenneth enjoyed Portland Wrestling, nature, and the outdoors. He
is survived by his children, Linda Mulvanny of Sweet Home and Karen Grosnicoles
of Gresham, Oregon; two brothers, Mike Elavsky and Ray Elavsky; sister, Mary Oloson;
10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one soon to be great, great grandchild. He
was preceded in death by one son, Robert Elavsky; one sister; and one brother. A
memorial gathering will take place at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the
Skyline Inn in Sweet Home. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. |
