Herbert Pablo Scott, 57, of Brownsville passed away
Wednesday at his home. He was born in Agate GUAM to John Herbert and Maria (Pablo)
Scott. He lived in Guam until age 9 when his family settled in Sweet Home.
He has lived in Brownsville for the last 20 years. He married Laura K. Blackburn
on October 31, 1988 in Reno, Nevada. Herbert served in the Army Infantry
from 1967-1970 when he was honorably discharged. He then worked as a logger until
1983 when he retired due to an accident. He loved his family, spending
time on his ranch taking care of his critters, especially all kinds of birds.
He loved working with horses and helping people in need. He was a Christian and
enjoyed reading the Bible. He was also a Deacon at Sweet Home Church of Christ
on 18th and Long. He is survived by his wife, Laura, of Brownsville; his
son, Aaron; his daughter, Patra; and his brothers and sisters, Jose Scott of Albany,
Pedro Scott of Philomath, Connie Hillis of Albany, Mary Shew of Lebanon, Ina Phillips
of Peoria, John Scott of Crawfordsville, Francis Tyler of Cheshire, Trammel Scott
of Portland, and Naomi Wodtli of Philomath; also two grandchildren. He is
preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday,
February 17th, at Sweet Home Church of Christ on 18th & Long. Sweet Home Funeral
