Leota V. Dowling, age 78, of Sweet Home passed away Wednesday at her home. She was born in Lake Stevens, Washington to Joseph and Pearl (Inglish) Hisey.

Leota lived in Lake Stevens, moving from there to Seattle. She married Harold Dowling July 26, 1952, and they came to Sweet Home in 1956.

She was a registered nurse during her life. She loved being with her family and working with her flowers.

Leota is survived by her husband, Harold; children, Cathy Jo Melton of Portland, OR, Virginia Dougherty of Pittsburgh, PA, Harry Dowling of Pittsburgh, PA, William Dowling of Arlington, VA, Robert Dowling of Houston, TX, and Patricia Dowling of Costa Mesa, CA; three siblings; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Lebanon Community Hospital. At her request, no services are planned. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements
