Catherine Julia Brocard, age 78, of Sweet Home passed away Monday at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. She was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Edgar and Julia (Kresky) Dunn.
Catherine graduated from Metuchen High School in 1947. She lived in New Jersey until 1971, and then moved to Sweet Home.
She worked for Oliver Mahinery Co., in New York, and then for Johnson & Johnson as a personal secretary to the excutive in charge of the paper division. |

She married Joseph W. Brocard in 1951, and they built a house in Belle Mead, New Jersey in 1957. She worked at the carrier clinic from 1967-1971.
After moving to Sweet Home, she worked for Willamette Industries until retiring in 1991.
Catherine loved gardening and taking care of the apple orchard. She also enjoyed geneology and square dancing and was a member of the Home Orchard Society. She was a wonderful cook and everyone always enjoyed eating ehr apple pies.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Brocard; son, Joe, and his wife, Nancy Brocard, of Sweet Home; daughter, Karen, and her husband, Rick Flickinger, of Albany; and four granddaughters.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edgar Dunn; and sister, Theresa VanZandt.
Viewing will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1st, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 2nd, also at the church. A private burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
