Bette Messenger, age 81 of Albany passed away Thursday. She was born in Iowa City, Iowa to Chris and Viola (Hershberger) Bontrager.
Bette lived in Iowa until 1962 when she moved and settled in Arizona. Her first husband passed away in 1961. She married Bob Messenger in 1982. Bob passed away in 1991.
Bette was a hard worker. She raised her family while working outside the home. She loved to wait on her family. She worked with children with special needs at Albany Elementary School. She enjoyed her family and old gospel music. Bette loved the Lord and was looking forward to heaven.
She is survived by her children, Dean, Rick and Devon; really close friend, David Russell; grandson, Mathew; and granddaughters, Amanda and Megan.
Bette was preceded in death by her grandson, Paul.
A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, at Gilliland Cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling services. |
