Betty Jane Griner, age 87, of Sweet Home passed away Friday, June 27. She was born in Michigan to Harrison and Bertha Bargar.
During her life, she lived in Detroit and Centerline, Michigan, South Euclid, Ohio, and Sweet Home, Oregon. She attended Cleveland schools.
Betty attended Community Chapel. She loved gardening, collecting penguins, and following "Mariners” baseball.
She is survived by grandchildren, Cynthia Bell (husband, Jack) and James Griner (wife, Shellea); great grandchildren, Kimberlee, Nicole, Baileigh, Madilyn, and Jamie; daughter-in-law Pam Barbee of Sweet Home; sister, Lee Such of Mesa, Arizona; brother, Frank Bargar (wife, Joanne) of The Villages, Florida; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and dear friend and neighbor, Marjorie Hutchins.
Betty was preceded in death her husband, Grant William Griner; son, James William Griner, Sr.; and brother, Clyde Bargar.
The family has requested no plants or flowers. Please donate to American Heart Association or Safehaven Humane Society in care of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A viewing will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, at Sweet Home Mennonite Church. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling services. |
