| Tamara "Tammi" Ann Taylor Gourley, age 38, died on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at home.
Tammi attended Oregon State University, majoring in Geology and planned a career with National Parks and Recreation. She embraced nature, loving animals and photographing wildlife. She shared this love of nature with her children by taking trips to see tide pools and lava beds, fish hatcheries, and wildlife parks.
Tammi was a dedicated parent who took great pride and found much joy in being a nurturing mother. Those who loved Tammi knew her to be sweet, gentle, caring, and kind. She had a generous heart and opened her home to host foreign exchange students. She enjoyed learning about their unique cultures.
Tammi embodied all the qualities of an ideal wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Heaven is a better place because she is there. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her parents, John and Linda Taylor; her former spouse, Robert Gourley; siblings, Brian, Dana, Beth, Sharon, John, Amy, and Michael; devoted children, Ashley Rene (16), Jessica (14), Robert Jack (12),. Nathaniel Taylor (10), and Kaitlyn Tamara (8).
A viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2008 in the Relief Society Room of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweet Home, Oregon. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m., also at the church building. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
