| Donna M. Johnston, age 88, of Sweet Home died on Saturday, June 6, 2009. She was born in Emmett, Idaho to Frank and Katie (Newnham) Cole.
Her family moved to the Dixie area when she was young. Donna married Leo N. Keech in 1939, and they had one child together. Leo later passed away.
On July 6, 1954, Donna married Russell Johnston in Boise, Idaho. They moved to Homedale, Idaho to work and raise a family. They lived in Homedale until their retirement in 1975, when they then moved to Sweet Home. |

Donna was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was quite active with the Meals on Wheels program in Sweet Home, volunteering for 27 years. She loved quilting, flower gardening and games.
Donna is survived by: her son, James of Canyon City, Oregon; her daughter, Joleen Mahler
of Sweet Home; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Russell Glen Johnston, in 2008; two brothers; and two sisters.
There will be a viewing from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Gilliland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Meals on Wheels of Sweet Home.
