| James Reed Craver, age 69 of Sweet Home passed away on August 14, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 17, 1940 in Endicott, New York to Robert Reed and Gertrude Craver.
Jim married Geri Kniss on June 17, 1961 in Santa Cruz, California, and they remained together for 37 years before Geri’s passing in November 1998
Jim worked for IBM for 30 years and retired in 1989. He resided New York, California, and Arizona before settling in Sweet Home, Oregon in 1990.
Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as woodworking and construction. He liked to watch sports and followed his LA Dodgers and St. Louis Rams during their seasons. He loved to help people for the sake of helping, and he enjoyed talking with just about anybody.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gertrude; his brother, Dick; and wife, Geri Craver.
Survivors include his brother, Wayne Craver (Janet) of Redding, California; son, Brett Reed Craver (Colleen) of Longmont, Colorado; daughter, Teri Ann Allan (Bruce) of Lake Oswego, Oregon; grandchildren, Robbie, Brittany, and Chase of Arizona; step granddaughter, Britini; and great grandson, Jadon of Colorado.
For the past ten years, Jim shared his home with his companion, Judy Heeter of Sweet Home.
Honoring Jim’s wish, we would like to invite family and friends to join us in one more get-together around the fire pit at Jim’s house in Sweet Home at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22nd.
