| Robert Frederick McIntire, age 78, of Sweet Home passed away Saturday afternoon. He was born in Port Smith, Ohio to Ferland and Nora (Pugh) McIntyre.
He married Celeste McIntire after returning from the armed services. They were married 54 years. They lived in Arizona, and then returned to Celeste’s home town of Chicago. Later, the couple lived in California a number of years before settling in Sweet Home.
Robert and Celeste owned the Porta Via Motel (currently the Sweet Home Inn) from April 1978 to May 1989. Robert stayed active doing odd jobs for local businesses. He was a City Councilman in Sweet Home for eight and a half years, and he was a member of the Sweet Home Kiwanis.
He is survived by wife, Celeste, a sister, and two brothers. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling services.
