| Kirtie Young Terherst, age 81, of Sweet Home died on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at his home. He was born in Enon, Arkansas to Aaron Thomas and Rose Ellen “Ella” (Goodnight) Terherst.
Kirtie moved from Salinas, California to Sweet Home in 1977. He retired as a laborer in the construction industry. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, making knives, spending time with loved ones, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cleta Irene Terherst of Sweet Home; daughters, Linda Terherst, Nona Burbank, and Nancy Adams of Sweet Home, Charlotte Pepple of Crawfordsville, and Annette Swanson of Lebanon; son, Dale Terherst of Lacomb; sister, Irene Dickens of Harrison, AR; brother, Raymond Terherst of Concord, CA; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1955; father in 1961; daughter, Wanda Terherst in 2009; sister, Agnes Camp in 2003; brothers, Joy Terherst in 2002 and Annis Terherst in 2007; and grandson, Justin James Terherst in 2007.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling services.
