Carol Sue Elliott
  Mar. 28, 1942 - Feb. 7, 2010

Carol “Sue” Elliott, age 67, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday, February 7. She was born in Mills County, Oklahoma to Curtis and Lois (Cornett) Tackitt. She was their fifth child.

After moving to Oregon with her family in 1943, she attended Redmond and Albany schools, and graduated from Albany High School in 1960.

Sue married Larry Eugene Elliott on July 3, 1965, and they settled in Sweet Home. Sue began a remarkable and memorable life waitressing at The Point Restaurant for 17 years. She also enjoyed fire watching with her dogs for Willamette Industries and operated a Real Estate firm with  her husband, Larry.

She loved cooking, entertaining, tending her garden, and, above all, caring for her family. She dedicated herself selflessly  to those she loved, making herself available wherever she was needed. Sue devoted her life to her husband Larry of 45 years and to sports and activities involved in raising two sons and a daughter.  She continued those traditions with equal devotion with her grandchildren, sharing countless adventures and memories that would fill volumes. All that crossed her path needing her attention, care, and love, she met with endless enthusiasm and a pure and sincere heart.

Sue is survived by: her husband, Larry Elliott of Sweet Home; sons, Jubal and Oakley of Sweet Home; daughter, Beverly (Hays) Gold of Albany; sister, Patty Bidiman of Prineville; brothers, Kenneth Tackitt of Meridian, Idaho and Cecil Tackitt of Albany; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and eleven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brother, Dennis Tackitt of Albany.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, February 22, at Sweet Home Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Sweet Home Elks Scholarship Fund.
