Boyd L. Roberts, age 85, of Lebanon died March 1 of causes related to age. He was born Dec. 12, 1924 in Aurora, Oregon to Cecil and Inez (Pruitt) Roberts.
Boyd graduated from high school in Grants Pass prior to joining the U.S. Army in 1943. He served during World War II and was with some of the first American troops to enter the concentration camps. He married Wilda Ferguson on June 6, 1948 in Corvallis. He was the owner of Boyd Roberts Logging in Cottage Grove and Eugene and Western Auto in Lebanon.
Survivors include: his wife, Wilda; daughter, Julie Foss of Lebanon; son, Jim Roberts of Portland; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 8, at Grant Street Church of Christ in Lebanon with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m.
Graveside services will begin at 2:30 pm at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home. Remembrances can be made to Church of Christ, 210 East Grant Street, Lebanon, Oregon 97355-4109. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling services.
