Ruth McCullough, 89, of Sweet Home passed peacefully after a full and loving life.

She was born in Warren, Ohio to Dean and Clara Minerva (Camp) Hayes.

She was a mother, wife, scout leader, hiker, hunter, army nurse, veterinary assistant, artist, world traveler, and writer.  

She buried three husbands (Bill Henson, Frank McCullough, and Bill McCullough), birthed three children (Charlotte Henson, Dean Henson and Molly Harrington), and helped raise six others (Petie Witter, Katie Knostman, Weezer Leonhardt, Colleen Marr, Bill Henson Jr., James Hennessy).

She had seven grandchildren (Heather Henson, Shamus Henson, Casey Harrington, Meadow Swanson, Heidi Harrington, Bill Wiens, and Greg Wiens) and one great-grandchild (Joslyn Harrington).  

Mom leaves a legacy of appreciation for the outdoors, service to others, hunger for adventure, devotion to honesty and outspokeness.
  
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 3, at United Methodist Church in Sweet Home, Oregon.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Women’s War Memorial, Dept. 560, Washington DC, 20042-0560.
