Glen E. “Pete” Hammersley, 57, of Sweet Home died Tuesday. He was born in Prineville to Wesley and Beatrice (Blalack) Hammersley.
Pete loved the outdoors, including fishing, and worked as a Linn County Police Officer and boot camp officer in Astoria.
Survivors include: wife, Darnelle Gentry; mother, Beatrice Clawson; brother, Ray Myers (and wife, Connie); and sister, Brenda Harrington — all of Sweet Home; son, Cory, and grandson, Wesley, of Riddle; and son, Ray (and wife, Shannon) and granddaughter, Tayler Rae Hammersley, of Albany; brothers, Jim Myers of Eugene and Tom Hammersley of Florida; sister, Debbie Collett of Corvallis; 15 nieces and nephews; 28 great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews. His sister, Lawanda Anthony, preceded Pete in joining our Lord.
A private service will be held.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
