April 24, 1948–May 21, 2018

Miriam “Mim” Hooley, 70, of Sweet Home, Oregon went home to be with her Savior on Monday, May 21, 2018. Mim was born April 24, 1948 to Clayton and IdaRose (Nice) Wolfer.

Mim was born and raised in Sweet Home. She and her husband Gary made it their home when they were married in 1968. Gary and Mim recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Mim was a faithful member of River of Life Fellowship in Sweet Home, where she often taught Sunday School and served the church in many other ways. Her faith was deep and she was utterly assured of her salvation.

Miriam "Mim" Hooley

Mim retired from Samaritan Health Services in 2014, where she managed the cardiology department in Corvallis. She threw herself into her work, whether it be for her church, family, or for Samaritan.

Mim was an avid reader and gardener. She loved flowers. She was a tremendous cook and loved to bake and make special meals and treats for her family and friends. Mim was a wonderful hostess and loved to serve others in that way. She enjoyed spending time at whatever activities her granddaughters were interested in, as well.

Miriam is survived by her husband, Gary Hooley, of Sweet Home; son Randy Hooley and daughter-in-law Apreil Hooley of Sweet Home; daughter Vicky Storey and son-in-law Chad Storey of Stayton; granddaughters Sidney and Rylie Hooley of Sweet Home, and Emma and Rosa Storey of Stayton; sisters Doris Knox of Lebanon, Diane Paulus of Tangent, and Alta Gerig of North Baltimore, Ohio; brother Merv Wolfer of Central Point; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Mim was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Ida Rose Wolfer, and sister, Karlene Wolfer.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at River of Life Fellowship.
