Myrtle Berdean Elizabeth Miller, of Lebanon, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 80 Thursday, August 20, 2020. Berdean was born in Prescott, Arizona on November 6, 1939. The only daughter and second child of four children of James David and Lala Vadeina (Gifford) Whitley.
Berdean was a strong-willed and loving soul. Berdean married the love of her life at the age of 18. In 1970, Berdean and her husband moved their family from California to Oregon. Where they built a home and raised their family. Berdean was a resourceful survivor. She loved her family above all else and was a fierce protector of all those she loved. She raised Appaloosa horses, delivered milk from her own cows, and worked hard alongside her family all her life.
Berdean is survived by her four children Carrie, Frances, Crystal, and James. Her eight grandchildren William, David, Heather, Michael, Jonathan, Christopher, Todd, and Nicholas. And her eleven great grandchildren Jeffery, Kaleb, Shelby, Kelsie, Malachi, Juliannah, Everett, Cadence, Harlon, Larue, and Wendy.
Berdean was preceded in death by her Parents James and Vadeana Whitley. Her brothers Frankie, Curt, and Junior. Her husband James Miller, and her great granddaughter Caitlyn Easling.
Berdean will be laid to rest beside her husband at Lewis Cemetery in Sweet Home, OR above Foster Lake on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
