Alan Lee Newman, 78, of Lebanon, Oregon, formerly a long-time resident of Brownsville, passed away Thursday, January 14. He was born in Oakland, California to Marion Atlas and Barbara Janice (Murphy) Newman. His father was in the United States Army.
Alan's last residence was Meadowlark Assisted Living in Lebanon for about four months. Before that, he lived in Brownsville with this sister and brother-in-law for 30 years.
Alan worked for the city of Brownsville as a groundskeeper. He was a Christian. He enjoyed woodwork, drawing, and driving his lawn mower around. He loved trains and his wild racoons.
Alan is survived by his sister, Sharon, and her husband, Bill Talon, of Brownsville; nieces Teri Foronda of Redding, California, Deana Thompson of Oakhurst, California, and Vickie Pressley of Elmira; four great nieces and three great nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Newman.
