David Lee Fowler, 61, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Elbert Till and Mary McLean (Fowler).
David served during the Cold War. He served ten years on a submarine as a fire control tech. His active duty was to protect the NW from foreign threat. David also served 17 years as an Emergency Tech, FST, and EMT for El Paso, Texas Fire Department. He patrolled the waters off the NW and loved Oregon. His life was fulfilled by the beauty of Sweet Home and “the Community Closeness.” He felt cared for.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, cook outs, friends, the coast, and eating out.
David is survived by his wife, Drema Fowler, of Sweet Home; daughters: Nicole Griffith of Huber Heights, Ohio, Caiti McEnroe of San Antonio, Texas; sons: Tom and Casey McEnroe of El Waso, Texas; brother Robert Fowler of Dalphine, Alabama; sister Tammy Cooper of St. Petersburg, Florida; uncle Curtis Fowler of Charlotte, North Carolina; and two nieces.
Memorial Contributions can be made to Sweet Home VFW #3437 where David was a life-long member.
